Man United have submitted a £22m bid for Federico Bernardeschi

MANCHESTER UNITED have made an approach for Italian ace Federico Bernardeschi, reports claim.
According to Italian publication Gazzetta World, the Red Devils offered Fiorentina £22m for the talented winger.

However, United are unlikely to be successful as Fiorentina president Andrea Della Valle values Bernardeschi at £32m.

Federico Bernardeschi is considered one of Italy's hottest prospects and has a host of European admirers.

Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Barcelona have all been linked with the dazzling Italian, who still has three years left on his contract.

Bernardeschi, 22, bolster his price-tag after netting a sublime strike against Tottenham in the Europa league and his value could swell again at White Hart Lane tonight.

United could have snapped up the versatile ace, who can play on either flank, five years ago when Sir Alex Ferguson pushed for his signature.

The Scottish icon failed in his pursuit after his father, Alberto, convinced him to remain in Italy.

Despite missing out on Premier League riches, Bernardeschi insists he does not regret his decision.

He said: "I'm convinced I made the right choice [by rejecting Manchester United].

"It would be wonderful to reach the Europa League final against Manchester United, I sometimes imagine playing this game."
